MOSCOW, March 1 (RAPSI) – The Moscow City Court has extended the detention of five defendants in the criminal case on the murder of Russian opposition politician Boris Nemtsov until May 28, RAPSI reported from the courtroom on Tuesday.
During the hearing all suspects pleaded not guiltyagain and complained of being tortured by law enforcement officers.
Zaur Dadayev, brothers Anzor and Shadid Gubashev, Temerlan Eskerkhanov and Khamzat Bakhayev stand charged with contract murder and illegal acquisition, carrying and keeping of weapons.
Inquiry against them has been completed. They began reading case materials consisting of 66 volumes and material evidence. However, alleged organizers of the murder remain under investigation.
Nemtsov, 55, was murdered in central Moscow as he walked across a bridge near the Kremlin on February 28, 2015.
