MOSCOW, April 27 (RAPSI) – In 2015, the crime rate in Russia increased by 9% compared to 2014, according to Prosecutor General Yuri Chaika’s report.
The report indicates that over 2.38 million crimes were recorded in Russia last year.
According to Chaika, the crime rate increased in 77 territorial entities of the Russian Federation out of 85.
The highest crime coefficient (3,069) has been recorded in the Zabaikalye Territory, the report reads.
Prosecutor General’s Office says that the number of serious crimes decreased from 18.4 to 16.5 percent. However, the number of minor and medium gravity crimes increased from 42.5 to 43.9 percent and from 33.3 to 34.3 percent respectively.
In 2015, every twentieth investigated offence was committed by minors or involving them, according to the report.
