MOSCOW, August 23 (RAPSI) – Thai police have arrested Russian citizen Vasiliy Smolnikov, a Russian citizen put on the international wanted list by Russian branch of Interpol, RIA Novosti reported on Tuesday.

Smolnikov is suspected of transferring a large-scale bribe to an official. He is to be deported back to homeland in the near future.

According to media of Russia’s Khakassia Republic, Smolnikov was a former MP of the municipal council and construction contractor who was expelled from the party in February after launch of embezzlement and bribery criminal case against him.
