MOSCOW, February 2 (RAPSI) - Yandex, Mail. Ru and several advertisers have violated law by advertising smoking accessories, the Federal Antimonopoly Service’s (FAS) Moscow office announced on Thursday.

The antimonopoly watchdog has considered applications of citizens over advertisement of bongs and hookahs on Yandex. Direct service and Mail. Ru search engine. Websites selling these devices opened when clicking through the advertising links, the statement reads. Therefore, Yandex. Direct and Mail. Ru have promoted smoking accessories in violation of advertising law, FAS said.

The Federal Antimonopoly Service’s (FAS) Moscow office has issued Yandex, Mail. Ru and advertisers an order to halt distribution of inappropriate advertising.

Advertisement of tobacco, waterpipe tobacco products, cigarettes, smoking accessories, cigarette paper and lighters is prohibited by the advertising law.
