MOSCOW, April 17 (RAPSI) – Prosecution authorities of Russia and Israel have signed a memorandum on cooperation in combating crime, Russia’s Prosecutor General’s Office announced on its website on Monday.
The memorandum establishes major areas of cooperation between the countries such as prevention of crime and protection of rights and human liberties. Fighting against crime include combatting corruption, terrorism and extremism, illegal ammunition and drug trafficking, illegal migration and human trafficking, cybercrime and other offenses posing increased risk to the society, the statement reads.
Parties to the memorandum agreed among others to work closely in issues on extradition, seizure, arrest and confiscation and return of criminally-obtained assets.
During the meeting, Russia’s and Israel’s delegations discussed questions of executing specific extradition requests by the both parties and legal assistance in criminal cases.
