MOSCOW, June 1 (RAPSI, Oleg Sivozhelezov) – The General Prosecutor’s Office has helped entrepreneurs to receive 50 billion rubles (about $88.3 million) owed to them by contract obligations, Prosecutor General Yury Chaika said on Thursday at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
The Prosecutor General also noted that one million of planned inspections of business structures were cancelled in the last 2.5 years. In 2016, about 60,000 officials were punished for violations in the sphere of inspections. Chaika said during the Forum that 82 agreements on protection of law-abiding foreign investors were signed with foreign judicial authorities.
The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) is an annual international conference dedicated to economic and business issues. SPIEF attracts over 10,000 international and Russian participants, including government and business leaders, as well as leading global voices from academia, the media and civil society. The Forum first took place in 1997 and since 2006, it has been held under the auspices of the President of the Russian Federation.
