MOSCOW, August 17 (RAPSI) – Russian media watchdog Roskomnadzor has suspended the .ru domain website of U.S. Neo-Nazis Daily Stormer, head of the watchdog Alexander Zharov said on Thursday.According to Zharov, Russian legislation establishes zero tolerance approach to online extremism.

The Daily Stormer propagates Neo-Nazi ideology and promotes racial, national and other forms of social hatred, the official statement of Roskomnadzor reads. The watchdog asked a registrar of domain names, Ru-center, to terminate delegation of domain name for the website in .ru domain. Soon afterwards the request was granted.

Recently, the website published an article ridiculing a victim of violent clashes in the U.S. town of Charlottesville prompting leading social networks, such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to ban Daily Stormer’s accounts.
