MOSCOW, October 3 (RAPSI) – Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) has found guilty participants of 53 reverse auctions for procurement of food and supplementary products for the Interior Ministry, FAS website reads on Tuesday.
A commission of FAS found out that companies repeatedly used the same IP-address during the reverse auctions, going as far as filing different requisitions from the same computer.
FAS stated that mass collusion by the producers of the open market goods is a serious challenge for departments responsible for logistical support of law enforcement agencies. The Service is preparing proposals on how to prevent this situation from happening again in the future.
The antimonopoly watchdog also noted that the case filed will be transferred to appropriate agencies and that a criminal case over restriction of competition may be launched as a result.
