MOSCOW, November 3 (RAPSI) – The American Bar Association’s (ABA) ninth annual conference on resolution of CIS-related business disputes will be held on December 8 in Moscow.
ABA reminds that in times of high political tension this conference “has a particular importance for the international legal community.”
Among the topics for discussion are peculiarities of business disputes between Russian and Western companies in current political climate, changes to resolution of shareholders disputes brought by new Russian arbitration law and recent high-profile cases such as Rosneft v. Sistema.
Also, the conference aims to tackle such issues as enforcement of Russian arbitral judgments abroad, the intersection of criminal proceedings and cross-border business disputes, enforcement of judgments against states and other problems.
Representatives of prominent companies and law firms are expected to speak out on the conference. Among them are Baker McKenzie, RUSAL, Dentons, Clifford Chance, Simons&Simons and others.
The conference will be operated by the Russian Arbitration Association at Marriott Novy Arbat hotel in Moscow.
