MOSCOW, December 20 (RAPSI) - Civic activist Oksana Pokhodun charged with extremism for publishing several images on VKontakte social network has pleaded not guilty, her attorney Vladimir Vasin has told RAPSI.
According to the lawyer, criminal prosecution of Pokhodun is connected with her citizen activism.
A court in Krasnoyarsk began hearing the case on Wednesday, Vasin said. The woman is charged with incitement of hatred and enmity on grounds of religion, nationality and origin.
Investigators claim that in 2012, Pokhodun created a page under a pseudonym on VKontakte social network. From July 2015 to May 2016, she allegedly published several extremist images there.
