MOSCOW, April 4 (RAPSI) – A criminal case was opened on Wednesday over the fire in Perseus for Children shopping mall in Moscow that left one person dead and three injured, the Investigative Committee’s press service reported.
The case was launched for crimes under the Criminal Code’s articles on manslaughter and negligence, the statement reads.
The fire in the Moscow mall was stifled in an hour, 20 individuals were saved, about 600 people were driven out to a secure area. However, three firemen were injured, one mall employee died.
Witnesses are currently questioned, according to investigators.
Earlier, on March 25, major fire occurred in Kemerovo’s Zimnyaya Vishnya (“Winter Cherry”) shopping mall. As a result, 64 persons including children were killed. Seven persons were charged and detained in the case. Ukrainian pranker Nikita Kuvikov (Yevgeny Volnov), who allegedly disinformed people of the death toll in the blaze was arrested in absentia.
