MOSCOW, April 10 (RAPSI) – Six terrorist attacks have been prevented since the beginning of 2018, the National Anti-Terrorist Committee’s press service reports Tuesday citing its chair and the Federal Security Service (FSB) chief Alexander Bortnikov.
Bortnikov said during the National Anti-Terrorist Committee’s meeting that three crimes of a terrorist nature were committed in Russia’s Khabarovsk and Sakhalin regions and the Republic of Dagestan within four months. However, activities of 12 undercover terrorist cells were curbed, 189 terrorists and their accomplices were arrested and 15 were killed during that period, he added.
According to the FSB chief, potential terrorist threats call for the follow-on development of the federal counter-terrorism system including protection of would-be objects of terrorist crimes.
