MOSCOW, April 10 (RAPSI) – T2 Mobile (Tele2 brand) company faces fine for roaming violations, the Federal Antimonopoly Service reports on its website on Tuesday.
According to the watchdog, Tele2 violated antitrust legislation by fixing monopolistically high prices in national roaming. The company failed to remedy violations unlike other mobile operators involved in the case.
A fine would be set following the results of administrative proceedings, the statement reads.
On July 14, 2017, the watchdog issued warnings to MTS, MegaFon, VimpelCom (Beeline brand) and T2 Mobile (Tele2 brand). FAS announced that the operators’ actions may have violated the competition law by setting different prices for mobile phone service in customer’s home region and in roaming on the territory of Russia.
In late July 2017, the watchdog opened antimonopoly cases against the companies over alleged violation of competition legislation. At that time, all four mobile operators expressed readiness to enforce the warning.
In February, FAS announced that MTS and VimpelCom corrected violations. Megafon cured the breach in March. Antimonopoly cases against the companies were completed.
