MOSCOW, April 16 (RAPSI) – The number of patent applications in the sphere of blockchain has increased dramatically, Chief of Russia’s patent agency Rospatent Grigory Ivliyev has told journalists.

Ivliyev said during the conference called “Digital transformation: intellectual property and blockchain technologies” that in 2017 the Agency received 18 applications related to blockchain while this year Rospatent reviews 285 claims.

According to the official, blockchain itself may help with registration of intellectual property rights. Ivliyev awarded victors of the hackathon, which was organized before the conference, and invited them to work in the Agency.
