MOSCOW, April 25 (RAPSI) – The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) has ordered T2 Mobile, a company behind Tele2 mobile operator, to set economically justified rates for national roaming until May 31, FAS documents read.
Additionally, the mobile operator is to stop violating the competition law as it was found to fix monopolistically high prices in national roaming.
Earlier it was reported that the company failed to remedy violations unlike other mobile operators involved in the case. The company will be brought to administrative liability and the amount of fine to be paid is going to be decided later, FAS reported.
On July 14, 2017, the watchdog issued warnings to MTS, MegaFon, VimpelCom (Beeline brand) and T2 Mobile (Tele2 brand). FAS announced that the operators’ actions may have violated the competition law by setting different prices for mobile phone service in customer’s home region and in roaming on the territory of Russia.
In late July 2017, the watchdog opened antimonopoly cases against the companies over alleged violation of competition legislation. At that time, all four mobile operators expressed readiness to enforce the warning.
In February, FAS announced that MTS and VimpelCom corrected violations. Megafon cured the breach in March. Antimonopoly cases against the companies were completed.
