MOSCOW, April 27 (RAPSI) – A resident of St. Petersburg Alexey Yefimov charged with fraudulent embezzlement of state funds allocated as subsidies for organization of work places for disabled persons has been detained, a representative of the Kuybyshevsky District Court of St. Petersburg has told RAPSI.
Yefimov will stay in detention until June 24.
According to case documents, Yefimov devised a criminal plan in 2014. He allegedly received papers of two sham firms and used them to manufacture documents stating that the companies expected to open 8 and 13 work places for disabled persons and that he required subsidies to buy necessary equipment.
Investigators stated that Yefimov received 2.3 million rubles ($36,800) for one company and 3.8 million ($60,800) for another.
