MOSCOW, May 8 (RAPSI) – Nordwind Airlines company had unlawfully used the brand of 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia, the Moscow office of Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) said in a statement on Tuesday.

The company used the FIFA 2018 brand when publishing information on the schedules of its flights, the statement reads.

Earlier, FAS has issued a warning letter addressed to the company, in which cautioned it against dissemination of the said information; however, the company failed to comply within the prescribed time limit. Accordingly, FAS has initiated an antimonopoly case against Nordwind saying that unlawful use of FIFA 2018 brand might have caused material and reputational damage to Russia as the organizer of the World Cup.

FAS says in the statement that it is ready to start administrative proceedings over the violation in the nearest future.
