MOSCOW, July 18 (RAPSI) – Slovakia has extradited Aslan Yandiyev, an alleged member of a gang under the leadership of notorious warlord Shamil Basayev, to Russia, the press service of the Federal Security Service (FSB) reports Wednesday.

Yandiyev stands charged with organization of terrorist acts. According to the FSB statement, he was involved in organizing and committing a series of deadly terror attacks in the Russian city of Vladikavkaz, North Ossetia, in 2006.

Investigators claim that the defendant went abroad to escape criminal prosecution in 2010. In 2011, he was arrested in Slovakia.
