MOSCOW, November 26 (RAPSI) – A directorate of Russian media watchdog Roskomnadzor has launched an administrative case against Google corporation over the fact that the company is not connected to Russia’s registry of prohibited websites, the watchdog’s statement reads.
According to Russian legislation, search engine operators must exclude links to prohibited websites from the search results. For this purpose, they must connect to the federal state information system with the list of prohibited websites.
A potential fine for the violation may reach 700,000 rubles ($10,400). Review of the administrative case is set for December 2018.
