MOSCOW, May 29 (RAPSI) – The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) has launched a case against Russian major digital service provider Rostelecom over alleged violation of the competition protection law, the watchdog’s statement reads.

According to the FAS, the company has not complied with an issued warning in term.

An application against Rostelecom has been filed by MegaFon, one of the largest mobile operators in Russia.

Earlier, the watchdog found that the Internet provider refused to sign agreements on MegaFon’s zonal telephone network attachment in Russia’s Voronezh, Krasnodar, Stavropol and Rostov regions, Republics of Adygeya, Dagestan, Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachay-Cherkessia and North Ossetia-Alania to Rostelecom’s local telephone network.

Rostelecom was ordered to remedy violations until April 30 but failed, the statement reads.
