MOSCOW, June 6 (RAPSI) – The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) has opened a case against Sangfei CEC Electronics Rus, an official importer of Philips production, over alleged price regulation for smartphones, the watchdog’s statement reads.
In 2017, the regulator conducted an unscheduled inspection of the company and revealed signs of violation of the competition protection law. According to the FAS, Sangfei CEC Electronics Rus coordinate economic activity of Philips resellers that led to the smartphone price regulation.
In the last years, the watchdog repeatedly found the competition protection law violations on the smartphone market by Apple, LG, Samsung and other large companies, the FAS said.
