MOSCOW, July 30 (RAPSI) – The Presidential Council for Human Rights asked on Tuesday the Central Election Commission (CEC) to discuss an opportunity to include its representatives into working groups in case such groups are created for re-authentication of voters’ signatures cast in favor of candidates for membership in the Moscow City Duma, according to the body’s press-service.

The Council believes this measure will ensure the maximum degree of transparency for the procedure of examination of complaints submitted by the candidates to the Central Election Commission on the issue of voters’ signatures rejected as falsified. Moreover, Russian legislation provides for the Commission to intervene in complex and controversial verification cases, according to the Council.
