MOSCOW, March 5 (RAPSI) – Punishment for distribution of fake reports must be as public as possible to show others the consequences of such actions, the head of the Russian Civic Chamber’s Mass Media Committee Alexander Malkevich said at the extended working group meeting on Thursday.
The technology of dissemination of fake news, according to the expert, usually consists of the fake news hit job on social media and later official media reports, he noted. Most of recent fake reports concerned coronavirus, he added.
Every day, about 3,000 reports are thrown in different chats. However, there are official statistics showing the real coronavirus situation, Malkevich stated.
