MOSCOW, October 15 (RAPSI) – Russia’s Children Rights Commissioner Anna Kuznetsova has become one of the founding members of the Сhild protection fund, the All-Russia public private organization, according to the ombudsman’s press service.

The fund was created in accordance with the presidential order of October 6. Albert Likhanov, writer and academician of the Russian Academy of Education, was elected as the foundation’s chairperson.

Other founding members of the organization are also heart surgeon Leo Bokeria, organ transplant surgeon Sergey Gotye, chair of the executive committee of the Union of pediatricians of Russia, Professor Leila Namazova-Baranova, CEO of the Bolshoi Theatre Vladimir Urin, President of the Russian Academy of Education Yury Zinchenko and others. The Ministry of Education is a founder on behalf of the state.

The main purposes of the fund are cooperation between the state and civil society institutions to in the protection minors’ rights; creation of conditions for their balanced growth; strengthening of authority and role of a family; assistance in development of a social base of education, recreation and communication of children; aid for orphans, minors deprived of parental care, children with disabilities.
