MOSCOW, November 17 (RAPSI) – Russia’s Federal Ombudsman Tatiana Moskalkova on Tuesday proposed to enshrine in the international treaty a right of ombudsmen to visit prosecuted and convicted fellow citizens abroad and render assistance to them.
She suggested during the online IV International Conference on the Problems of Human Rights Protection in the Eurasian Space that relevant amendments should be added to the Convention on rendering legal assistance in civil, criminal and family matters.
According to Moskalkova, currently such cooperation is conducted only based on mutual agreements.
