MOSCOW, June 6 (RAPSI) – In 2021, the number of complaints filed with Russia’s High Commissioner for Human Rights Tatiana Moskalkova increased by nearly 35% as compared to 2020, according to the Federal Ombudsman’s report.
There were 48,553 written applications and 10,854 phone calls.
Mostly, the complaints touched social and economic sphere including healthcare, housing and utility sector.
The number of applications concerning human rights protection in the criminal justice system reached 27% of all others (13,077).
In total, during the last year, the rights of 10,999 in 2,253 applications were restored, the report reads.
