MOSCOW, June 15 (RAPSI) – The death penalty should be retained in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), especially in wartime conditions, Chairman of the State Duma, the lower house of Russian parliament, Vyacheslav Volodin stated on Wednesday in a post on his Telegram channel.

«Every day we witness the neo-Nazi Kyiv regime commits crimes against humanity, shelling residential areas, hospitals, maternity homes, kindergartens, schools. Elderly people, women, children are dying», the statement reads.

Those who give orders to fire at civilians and who carry the orders out must understand they are committing a crime, and the responsibility for it will be severe, Volodin said. The death penalty is that punishment the fascists deserve, the official added.

According to his post, a parliamentary delegation of the Donetsk People’s Republic paid an official visit to the State Duma last week. Matters of harmonization of the legislations of Russia and the DPR were discussed during the meeting.
