MOSCOW, July 1 (RAPSI) — The Penal Code of the Donetsk People's Republic, adopted by the DPR parliament in June 2021 and synchronized with Russian legislation, has entered into force.
The document includes eight sections providing for corrections ranging from those not related to the isolation of convicts from society to those in the form of detention and imprisonment. It also regulates the execution of punishment in the form of restrictions on military service, arrest and detention in a disciplinary military unit as concerns convicted servicemen.
As concerns provisions on the execution of the death penalty, such are to come into force in 2025.
The Penal Code of the Donetsk People’s Republic is to enter into force on July 1, 2022, with the exception of the provisions for which this Code establishes other terms of entry into force. The provisions of this Code on the execution of the death penalty shall enter into force from 1 January 2025, the document reads.
