MOSCOW, June 9 - RAPSI. President Vladimir Putin has signed a law abolishing the 70-year age limit for the Supreme Court chairperson and his/her deputies, reports the Kremlin's press service.

In addition, the new law cancels the current limit on the term of office- a maximum of two consecutive tenures - for the Supreme Court chairperson and his/her deputies.

Previously, Russian judges could remain in office only up to 70 years of age, although there was no age limit for Constitutional Court judges.
