ST.-PETERSBURG, September 30 - RAPSI. An appeals court has upheld a trial court decision to award $1.9 million to Aurora from the Baltiisky Zavod shipyard, the court materials read.
The shipyard contested the St. Petersburg Commercial Court's decision awarding Aurora 58.54 million rubles ($1.8 million) in principal debt and 3.45 million rubles ($108,000) in penalties under a 2009 contract with Rosenergoatom to produce a power unit for the world's first floating nuclear power plant. The contract amount was equal to 10 billion rubles ($313 million).
Aurora also seeks from the shipyard 278.39 million rubles ($8.7 million) in advance payments.
Aurora develops and manufactures control systems and instruments for civil and naval vessels.
The Baltiisky Zavod is part of the United Industrial Corporation. It manufactures icebreakers, naval and cargo ships, as well as power engineering hardware.
