MOSCOW, December 29 - RAPSI, Alyona Yegorova. A commercial court adjourned until January 11 the hearing into the lawsuit by Rosneft's minority shareholder Alexei Navalny to provide him the minutes of the 2009 board meeting of Rosneft, a state-owned oil giant, the Russian Legal Information Agency (RAPSI/rapsinews.com) reported on Thursday.
On Thursday Rosneft lawyers submitted an application to suspend the proceedings since the Moscow Commercial Court is currently considering a lawsuit by Rosneft against the Federal Service for Financial Markets.
The lawsuit against the service disputes the agency's order of July 22, 2010, in which the service is demanding that the company rectify the violations by providing Navalny the controversial minutes.
A lawyer for Rosneft said: "This case cannot be resolved until the case disputing the Federal Service for Financial Markets' order has been resolved."
Navalny did not agree with Rosneft's position. "I am completely opposed to the granting of this application," he said.
The minority shareholder called the proceeding against the service "secondary", since he referred to the service after the first decision in his dispute with Rosneft had already been made.
The Moscow Commercial Court is currently examining another lawsuit by Navalny against Rosneft about documents being made available. This dispute deals with the copies of contracts on oil supplies to China.
The documents requested include the contracts on the $15 million provided by China Development Bank to Rosneft as well as the contract to supply crude oil to Chinese National Petroleum Corporation for a term of 20 years from 2011 to 2030.
