MOSCOW, February 15 - RAPSI, Sergei Feklyunin. A court of appeals adjourned on Tuesday until March 20 the hearing of an appeal filed by billionaire-owned Anzhi football club against a lower court judgment awarding Dagestan Airlines $558,380 in debt for charter flights.

The court did not specify the reason for the postponement.

Anzhi challenged the Dagestan Commercial Court's November decision to partially satisfy Dagestan Airlines' claim and award it 16.8 million rubles ($558,380).

Dagestan Airlines claimed 17.6 million rubles ($585,000) in principal debt under a charter service contract of March 26, 2009. The airline also sought to recover 1.76 million rubles ($58,400) in debt under a multiplying ratio and 6.07 million rubles ($201,000) in penalties.

The court stated that the airline failed to prove one of 18 charter flights it claimed to have conducted and denied the airline's claim on the recovery of penalty for late payment and the claim to apply a multiplying ratio regarding the flight costs.

In January 2011, Anzhi was acquired by Nafta Moscow owner Suleyman Kerimov, the billionaire who managed to purchase Brazilian world champion Roberto Carlos, Russian international Yuri Zhirkov and star forward Cameroonian Samuel Eto'o.

The Russian Agency for State Property management reported last February that the auction to sell 100 percent of the state-run Dagestan Airlines failed for the absence of bids. The company shares were put on sale as a single lot worth 790 million rubles ($25 million).
