MOSCOW, March 4 - RAPSI. The presidential elections held in Russia on Sunday did not avoid violations. Billionaire candidate Mikhail Prokhorov contemplates going to court in view of such infringements, RIA Novosti reported on Monday.
According to Prokhorov, violations have been found in St. Petersburg and Moscow Region.
Liberal-Democratic Party candidate Vladimir Zhirinovsky also faced problems during his election campaign in some regions.
Employees at some enterprises were subject to pressure up to the threat of discharge during the elections, said Liberal-Democratic Party representative Alexei Ostrovsky.
In his opinion multiple voting ballots manipulations have been exposed.
In view of them the party intends to summarize the information on violations during the March 4 elections and submit it to court, Ostrovsky noted.
With over 98 percent of all ballots counted, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin received 63.97 percent of the vote in Russia's March 4 presidential elections, the Russian Central Election Commission (CEC) said on Monday.
Putin needs to surpass the 50% threshold to win in the first round and avoid the runoff.
The average election turnout stands at about 64 percent, CEC Chairman Vladimir Churov said.
