MOSCOW, March 12 - RAPSI. Former Moscow Mayor's defense attorney Alexei Melnikov said he might appeal the dismissal of the lawsuit against former Presidential Administration head Sergei Naryshkin in the European Court of Human Rights.

Luzhkov sued Naryshkin for his statement about the alleged high-level corruption committed in Moscow government under Luzhkov and his administration. Moscow Presnensky Court dismissed Luzhkov's lawsuit. He later appealed the decision in the Moscow City Court.

The Moscow City Court will hear the appeal filed by former Moscow mayor Yuri Luzhkov on Monday. In case it is dismissed the plaintiff will have an option to refer to international courts, including the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR).

Melnikov earlier reported that his client had never committed corruption crimes and had never been prosecuted. According to Melnikov, Luzhkov believes that it is the law enforcement authorities that must fight corruption.

The representative of Naryshkin, who was appointed the Speaker of the State Duma on December 21, earlier told the Russian Legal Information Agency that his client does not recognize the lawsuit and considers it groundless and unfounded.
