ST.-PETERSBURG, July 9 - RAPSI. The Amur Region Commercial Court will hear on August 1 Baltika Brewery's lawsuit to invalidate the region governor's resolution to restrict alcoholic beverages sales.

Baltika is challenging the ban on liquor retail sales within a 700-meter rage of military facilities as of July 1. Draft beer sales have also been prohibited in outlets located in apartment buildings.

The company claims it is against the law on the state regulation of alcoholic beverages production and trade, and also contradicts competition law.

Baltika runs 11 breweries in Russia and one in Azerbaijan. It owns over 40 brands and exports products to 70 countries. The brewery accounts for about 70 percent of Russia's beer exports.
