YEKATERINBURG, November 7 - RAPSI. The Sverdlovsk Region Commercial Court will hold a hearing on December 12 as part of the lawsuit seeking to declare the City Without Drugs foundation's contract for the free use of premises in central Yekaterinburg invalid, the court materials read.
The foundation has been occupying premises at 19 Belinsky Str., Yekaterinburg for around 13 years. In August 2011, the Sverdlovsk Region government granted the organization the free use of a building until 2020.
In October 2012, the directorate of the Sverdlovsk Region Ministry for State Property Management submitted a lawsuit to the commercial court to have the contract invalidated. The ministry demands that the foundation must vacate the building.
Previously, the Sverdlovsk Region Prosecutor's Office submitted an application in the name of the region's Governor, Yevgeny Kuyvashev, to have violations rectified in relation to the use of the building where the foundation is based.
The office revealed a number of violations in the transaction which granted the foundation free use of the building.
Law enforcement officers have been investigating three criminal cases connected with the foundation's activities. This includes the case on the death of Tatyana Kazantseva, a drug addict, who, according to investigators, voluntarily went to the foundation for drug rehabilitation. The case was united with another case on illegal imprisonment. The third case was initiated under the article on "assault."
