MOSCOW, December 25 - RAPSI, Diana Gutsul. The suspects in the high-profile case of the kidnapping of businessman Yevgeny Kaspersky's son have refused to plead guilty, the Khoroshovsky District Court spokesperson told the Russian Legal Information Agency on Tuesday.
Semyon Gromov, Oleg Mayukov, Nikolay Savelyev and his son Nikolay Savelyev, Jr. have been charged with kidnapping. All of the suspects except for Mayukov have also been charged with extortion.
He is the only one who has pleaded partially guilty of kidnapping.
The investigation established that the suspects followed home Ivan Kaspersky, the 20-year-old son of the CEO of Kaspersky Lab, in March 2011.
They learned where he studied and worked, and also mapped out his daily schedule. They then decided to kidnap the young man in the Moscow district of Strogino.
The Investigative Committee reported that the suspects grabbed the young man on April 19, 2011, threw him into their car, handcuffed and blindfolded him. They then drove him to an undisclosed location in the Moscow region, where he was held until his release on April 24, 2011.
