MOSCOW, April 25 (RAPSI) - "Belgorod shooter" Sergei Pomazun has said in court that he is not guilty, that he considers his arrest illegal and that he would not give investigators any evidence, the Investigative Committee's press service reports.

Last Monday, Sergei Pomazun, 31, opened fire in a weapons store in Narodny Boulevard in Belgorod in southern Russia, killing three people, and then shot another three people on the street outside. Five people died on the spot, including a 14-year-old girl. Another victim, a 16-year-old girl, died later in intensive care.

Pomazun was detained on Tuesday night when he attempted to flee the city on a freight train. He was identified and detained by the transport police. The suspect resisted arrest and wounded one of the officers in the process.

If convicted, he will face life imprisonment.

On Wednesday the Sverdlovsky District Court of Belgorod ordered Pomazun to be arrested for one month and 29 days. He has been charged under three articles, including murder and attempted murder of a police officer.
