MOSCOW, May 16 (RAPSI) - The organizers of two parades and two rallies supporting the rights of sexual minorities have appealed the Moscow City Hall's refusal to authorize the events with the Tverskoy District Court, Gazeta.Ru reports.
According to the newspaper, the appellants have demanded that the complaint be considered before the events and the city officials be compelled to authorize the parades and the rallies.
Additionally, the gay pride march organizers plan to file complaints with the Moscow Tagansky District Court against the ban on the protests on May 25-26, and with the Khimki City Court against the ban on a rally and a gay pride march on May 25.
In their complaint, the campaigners recalled the European Court of Human Rights' ruling in 2010 that found the ban of such public events in Moscow in 2006, 2007 and 2008 to be illegal.
