MOSCOW, July 16 (RAPSI) - The Ninth Commercial Court of Appeals has upheld the Federal Migration Service's decision to fine McDonald's for hiring a woman from Kyrgyzstan who did not have a permit to work in Russia, the court told RAPSI on Tuesday.

McDonald's appealed against the April 15 decision of the Moscow Commercial Court which upheld the legality of the service's decision to fine the company.

On January 22, the Federal Migration Service's Moscow Department inspected the fast food chain for compliance with migration law.

The inspectors established that the chain hired a woman from Kyrgyzstan who did not have a work permit and imposed an administrative fine on the company. According to the law on the legal status of foreign nationals in Russia, employers are only allowed to hire foreigners who have work permits.

The Moscow Commercial Court studied the case materials and concluded that McDonald's hired a Kyrgyz national who had no permit to work in Russia. It rejected the company's arguments that the woman showed documents in another persons name when she applied for the job.
