MOSCOW, September 4 (RAPSI) - The Samara Region Commercial Court has dismissed an application filed by Russian businessman Dmitry Tretyakov seeking legalization of prostitution, RAPSI learnt in the court Thursday.
The businessman wanted the procedure for obtaining permits for providing sex services to be adopted. He was also seeking revision of several articles on prostitution of the Russian Criminal Code and the Russian Code of Administrative Offenses. Notably, the businessman demanded Article 240 (recruiting individuals to engage in prostitution), Article 241 (organization of prostitution) of the Criminal Code and Article 6.11–6.12 (engaging in prostitution) of the Code of Administrative Offenses to be decriminalized.
The application concerns the Russian Interior Ministry, the Ministry of Economic Development, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, the Federation Council and the State Duma which are on the list of the defendants.
