MOSCOW, June 11 (RAPSI) - The Seventh Commercial Court of Appeals has upheld the judgment ordering Russian construction company Sibmost that specializes in the production of bridges to pay Microsoft Corp 1 million rubles ($18,200) for copyright infringement, according to court records.
Sibmost’s offices were inspected in late October and early November 2013 by the economic crimes department of the Interior Ministry, and pirated software was detected.
The Novosibirsk Regional Commercial Court in early March upheld a lower court ruling in favor of Microsoft. Sibmost appealed the ruling.
The case had been rescheduled several times as the parties requested extra time to negotiate an amicable agreement, but the case finally reached court.
