MOSCOW, August 7 (RAPSI, Diana Gutsul) – The Kaliningrad Regional Court on September 1 will consider complaints filed by three Russian nationals against the sentence they received for raising a German flag over Federal Security Service (FSB) building in the city of Kaliningrad, Dmitry Dinze, a lawyer for one of the defendants, told RAPSI on Friday.
On June 17, Mikhail Feldman, Oleg Savvin and Dmitry Fonaryov were sentenced to prison terms varying from 13 to 14 months. They were immediately released from the courtroom as they have already served these terms at the pretrial detention center.
Investigators claimed that Feldman, Savvin and Fonaryov committed an act of vandalism based on political and social hatred in March 2014.
“A prosecutor has asked the court to sentence Feldman to two years, Savvin to 21 months and Fonaryov to 20 months in prison,” Dinze told RAPSI earlier.
Feldman is a member of a local movement called the Pubic Defense Committee.
Feldman and Savvin claimed that they didn’t understand the nature of the accusations and didn’t agree with them. Fonaryov pleaded partially guilty but did not specify any other details.
