MOSCOW, December 23 (RAPSI) - The Anti-Corruption Fund led by opposition politician Alexey Navalny again filed with the Tverskoy District Court of Moscow a lawsuit against Russia’s Prosecutor General Yury Chaika, according to the fund’s lawyer Ivan Zhdanov.
Earlier, the court returned the suit to the plaintiffs because they did not have a letter of attorney recorded in proper form.
Moreover, in mid-December, the Presnensky District Court dismissed the lawsuit because the case was outside its jurisdiction.
Earlier, Navalny’s fund released a publication that accused Chaika’s sons, Artyom and Igor, of exploitation of their father’s contacts in their own interests. The authors of the article also accused several highest-ranked executives of the Prosecutor General’s Office of illegal assistance to the brothers’ business.
Chaika said that the disseminated information is misleading and baseless. According to Prosecutor General, the article was written by order of chief executive of Hermitage Capital Management William Browder and intelligence agencies standing up for him.
The Anti-Corruption Fund seeks protection of honor, dignity and business reputation of the publication’s authors.
