MOSCOW, February 3 (RAPSI) – A court in Denver has dismissed a domestic abuse lawsuit against goaltender Semyon Varlamov of “Colorado” hockey team, Denver Post reported on Wednesday.
Varlamov was charged in 2013 with a count of third-degree assault after his ex-girlfriend Yevgeniya Vavrinyuk alleged he knocked her to the ground, stomped on her chest and dragged her by the hair during an argument last month.
Varlamov faced two years in prison, but prosecutors decided to drop the charges because of lack of evidence.
Vavrinyuk filed a civil lawsuit against her ex-boyfriend, however it was dismissed by court on Tuesday. Varlamov was granted $126,000 of damages.
