MOSCOW, November 2 (RAPSI) – Ex-head of Ukraine’s largest oil and gas corporation Naftogaz Igor Bakay allegedly involved in embezzlement has filed an appeal against his detention, according to the spokesperson of Moscow’s Tagansky District Court Yulia Sukhinina.

The Moscow City Court will consider the appeal on November 8.

On Tuesday, Bakay in jail until November 12.

Reportedly, the businessman, who held the position of Naftogaz chairman from 1998 to 2000, embezzled money belonging to other persons including Russian billionaire Alisher Usmanov.

Bakay could face up to 10 years in prison if convicted.
