MOSCOW, December 20 (RAPSI) – The Moscow District Military Court has sentenced a 23-year old Kyrgyz citizen to 12 years in high-security prison for justifying terrorism and plotting terrorist attacks in Russia, the press service of the Kirov Region’s prosecutor’s office reports Wednesday.
According to investigators, the Kyrgyz citizen being a member of an international terrorist organization banned in Russia posted images containing linguistic and psychological features of inciting hatred and enmity towards representatives of another social group on his VKontakte page in 2016.
In 2017, the defendant attempted to induce two residents of the Kirov Region on the Internet to carry out terrorist attacks in Moscow. Among others, the man planned to run over people by a lorry, prosecutors said.
The man has been charged with justifying terrorism, attempted facilitating a terrorist activity, and preparing a terrorist attack.
