MOSCOW, January 10 (RAPSI, Nikolay Merkulov) – The Moscow City Court on Wednesday upheld an order to arrest businessman and chairman of the Democratic Party of Moldova Vladimir Plakhotnyuk, charged with attempted murder, in absentia, RAPSI reported from the courtroom.
The court dismissed an appeal against an arrest warrant issued for Plakhotnyuk by the Basmanny District Court of Moscow in late November.
Plakhotnyuk is charged in Russia with attempted murder. He has been put on the international wanted list.
Reportedly, the case against the politician may be connected with the attempted assassination of Russian banker Herman Gorbuntsov, who was grievously wounded in London in 2012.
