MOSCOW, March 7 (RAPSI) – The Nagatinsky District Court of Moscow found civil activist Mark Galperin guilty of calls for extremism, and give him a 2-year suspended sentence, the defendant’s lawyer Alexey Liptser told RAPSI.
The lawyer noted that the sentence would be appealed.
The defendant was charged with public calls for extremist activity committed with the use of mass media or the Internet. The case is concerned with online videos criticizing authorities.
According to investigators, Galperin systematically violated public order and did not comply with the demands made by police. In June 2017, the Tverskoy District Court of Moscow put the defendant in administrative detention for 15 days. He was found responsible for not obeying the police at the unlawful June 12 rally in Moscow.
