MOSCOW, July 29 (RAPSI) – The Moscow Shcherbinsky District Court on Monday had detained a municipal deputy and former Moscow City Duma candidate Ilya Yahin for 10 days for organization of an unauthorized rally, the court’s press service informed RAPSI on Monday.

The rally in support of candidates seeking to become lawmakers of the Moscow State Duma but refused registration by the Election Commission was held on Saturday.

Earlier, the Moscow Prosecutor’s Office has warned the participants and organizers of the rally that the protest was not authorized by the city authorities, whereas the location of the meeting did not meet safety requirements.
